The Iola school district chose to place their preschool at Windsor Place in 2010. This classroom was the second "age to age" classroom in Kansas. The facility is excited to be able to host a classroom and continue the fight against loneliness, helplessness and boredom for the elderly, as well as provide an unique education to each of the children.
This "age to age" classroom is organized where children are partnered at various points throughout the day with the elders (also called "grandmas" or "grandpas") to play, sing, exercise and learn valuable lessons that only the elders can provide.
The program focuses on social skills and pre- kindergarten academic skills. There are two groups of preschoolers who attend Monday through Friday. The morning class arrives at 7:45a.m and dismisses at 11:15a.m. The afternoon class arrives at 11:45a.m. and dismisses at 3:15p.m.;2:40 on Wednesdays. There are 15 slots available in each session.
The program is overseen by Mrs. Heather Wools (pictured above). For more information, or to fill out an application, you may contact Mrs. Marcie Boring at (620) 365-4702 or email: email@example.com. You may also stop by the USD 257 District Office, at 620-365-4702, 305 N. Washington.
